The History of Vector

Vector Industries, Inc. began when a group of parents of persons with mental retardation,  formed the service to provide gainful employment for people with disabilities in an integrated environment.  We have been successful in offering real work in return for a real paycheck for our special workers and others without physical or mental challenges. Vector has allowed them the opportunity to be productive citizens of the community. Two of the original 5 employees still work at Vector along with 170 others.

The Purpose of Vector

Our goal is to offer training and employment related services for persons with and without disabilities from Augusta County as well as the cities of Staunton and Waynesboro.  We also offer employment to some workers in Nelson, Rockingham and Rockbridge Countie

The Mission of Vector

Vector's mission is to provide employment and employment related services for persons with disabilities to enable them to reach their potential as productive citizens. The employment services are provided through remunerative work with commensurate wages and benefits in an environment integrated with the non-disabled.

This mission is enacted in an operating manner that promotes safety, quality, customer service, productivity, and cost responsibility while increasing the sense of dignity, pride and self worth of all employees.
